State of Illinois Department of Transportation retiree, Francis "Frank" Wood, age 83, passed away Sunday June 14, 2015 at his residence in Paris. His funeral service will be Tuesday June 16, 2015, 11:00AM at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Carlton Gerrell of TVCC officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Aaron Wood, Joe Wood, John Brissa, Jacob Wood, Chris Wood and Allen Friant. Visitation after 9:00 Tuesday until service time. Mr. Wood was born in Chicago, IL, May 23, 1932 to the late Fredrick Wood and Gladys Ziegler. Survived by sons: Joe (Mary) Wood, Braidwood, IL, Pat (Brenda) Wood, Lebanon, TN, Dave (Ragan) Wood, Paris, TN, Mike (Teresa) Wood, Buchanan, TN; grandchildren: twenty; great-grandchildren: eleven. Preceded by his former wife: Doris Blake Wood and a sister: Marty Oleesky. Frank was an Air force Mechanic who served in the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He also volunteered his time with several ministries and loved spending time with his family.
