Gene Thomas "Tommy" Barrow age 68 of Puryear died Friday April 1, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. His service will be Tuesday at 3:00 PM at East Wood Church of Christ with John Dale and Corey Sawyers officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral and Tuesday, April 5, 2016 after 12:00 PM until service time at East Wood Church of Christ. Cremation will follow and honorary pallbearers will be the present and former members of Paris Chapter of FFA. Tommy was born on August 25, 1947 to the late Gene "C.E." Barrow and Juanita A. Mathis Barrow. On September 4, 1966 he married Janie Ealey Barrow who survives in Puryear, TN. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Deborah (Bobby) Sadler of Puryear, TN; a son: Jeff (Lisa) Barrow of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren: Maggie Barrow, Andrew Barrow, and Tyler Starnes; sister; Gail (Danny) Herndon of Hazel, KY; nephews: Jay Paul Herndon and Josh Herndon; sister-in-law: Becky (Bobby) King of Paris, TN; and brother-in-law: Dewey (Betty) Ealey, Jr. of Paris, TN. Besides his parents, Tommy was also preceded in death by a brother, Steve Barrow; a niece, Jana Ward; and a brother-in-law, Carl Ealey. Mr. Barrow was a longtime member of East Wood Church of Christ. He was a 1965 graduate of Puryear High School and a 1969 graduate of U.T. Martin were he was a member of the AGR Fraternity.
