George Rogers, Jr., age 68 of Buchanan, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his residence. His funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 21, 2023 with Bro. Robert McBroom of Point Pleasant Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow the service in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Steve Conner, Eddie Shankle, Marty Vissor, Greg Bradshaw, Beau Hollingsworth, and Jeff Fletcher. Visitation is scheduled on Saturday after 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. George Clinton Rogers, Jr. was born July 6, 1955 in Augusta, Georgia to the late George Clinton Rogers and the late Littly Irene Cunningham McCurdy. He married Vickie Diane Berry Rogers on June 17, 1972 and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Brandi Ann Rhamy of Gilbertsville, KY and Christina Renee Braddock of Buchanan; grandchildren, Dylan Thomas Rhamy and Danielle Elane Braddock both of Buchanan; brothers, Richard Rogers of Troy, TN and Jon (Tami) McCurdy of Overland Park, KS; sisters-in-law, Barbara Berry (Burney) Gourley and Judy Cutler, all of Elbridge, TN; brothers-in-law, Collie (Linda) Berry of Dyersburg, TN and Johnny (Donna) Berry of Maryville, TN; also by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mr. Rogers was a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church. He retired from Kohler in Union City after 40 plus years of service. George enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and sightseeing.
