Gerald E. Hart, age 87 of Paris, Tennessee passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at his residence. His funeral service will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Glynn Orr of New Hope Baptist Church to officate. Named as pallbearers are Jerry Hart, Stuart Hart, Eric Tressel and Marc Rosales. Burial will follow services in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy on Tuesday after 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:30 P.M. Gerald Enoch Hart was born January 5, 1934 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Willie V. Hart and the late Clessie Estelle Enoch Hart. He married Bobbi Joyner Hart on November 2, 1955 and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2021. Gerald is survived by his daughters, Karen (Marc) Rosales of Norwalk, OH and Paula (Charles) Griffith of Smyrna, TN; sons, Gerald "Jerry" (Trina) Hart, Jr. and Stuart (Jenny) Hart, all of Murfreesboro, TN; son-in-law, Mitchell Shepherd of Lorain, OH; grandchildren, Kristy DeWitt, Kelly Geiger, Ntussia (Trevor) Clinger, Lindsay Smith, Benjamin Hart, Adison Hewitt, Eric (Michelle) Tressel, Summer Shepherd, Elijiah Shepherd, Caleb Shepherd, Cole Shepherd, Heather (Bobby) McAtee, Ashley (John) Jansen, Tiffany Daniels and Brittany Cagle; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce (Leon) Wofford, Lois (Hugh) Pinson, Margaret (Bill) Stoner and Gail (Danny) Beasley; brother, David Hart; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Gerald is also preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Shepherd and brothers, William "Bill" Hart, Benjamin "Bud" Hart, Gene Hart and Kenneth Hart. Mr. Hart was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Lorain, Ohio at the age of 52 to come to Paris. It was said that Gerald never met a stranger and that he loved telling stories. He spent his last years taking care of his wife Bobbi. He loved gardening flowers and vegetables and also enjoyed painting, carving his walking sticks and playing his keyboards.
