Mr. Gerald W. "Red" Pierce, of Paris, TN passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at the age of 87. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 14, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home. Visitation will be held after 12:00 PM Noon till service time. Steve Gallimore of TVCC will officiate with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Named as Pallbearers; Chris Busito, Bobby Pierce, Johnny Petrie, Ryan Pugh, Steve Looney, Thomas Bub Edwards; Honorary Pallbearer: Mike Prince. Mr. Pierce was born June 30, 1929 in Springville, Tennessee to the late Henry Pierce and Tiny Mable Hale Pierce. On February 1, 1953 he married Thelma Wade Pierce, who preceded him on June 16, 2015. Survived by daughter; Connie Looney, of Paris, TN; grandchild; Sarah Looney, of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren; Trentin and Trey Williams; Simone, Suri and King Floyd; preceded by one brother; Tony Pierce. Mr. Pierce was a Methodist by faith. He was co-owner and operator of Pierce Brothers Garage for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and longtime member and Commander of the local VFW Post.
