Glenda Griffith Newton, age 84 of Dover, TN passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at Diversicare of Dover. Her private burial was Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Poplar Grove Cemetery and a private family memorial will be scheduled at a later date. Glenda Griffith Newton was born December 28, 1937, in Gary, IN to the late Raymond Oliver Griffith and the late Velma Louise Lawson Griffith. She was previously married to John David Burger, Sr. and on January 4, 1986, she married Donald Wayne Newton and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2011. Glenda was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Glenda is survived by two daughters: Laura Lynn (Norris) Barrow of Dover, TN, and Kathryn Irene (Michael) Fadely of Las Vegas, NV; three sons: John David (Sophia) Burger, Jr., of Portage, IN, Raymond Earl (Dawn) Burger of Moorcroft, WY, and Jeffery James (Mary) Burger of Portage, IN; one sister, Patricia Leigh (Samuel) Miller of Carson City, NV; one brother, James Patrick Griffith of Griffith, IN; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Glenda was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Leigh Burger; a son, Donald Allen Burger; two sisters: Elizabeth Dean Murphy and Louise Rene Schammert; and a brother, Bud Griffith.
