Gwelda Lee Williams, age 79 of Puryear, TN passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at her residence. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 26, 2022, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Chad Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Pallbearers for Ms. Williams will be Van Williams, Scooter Williams, Lee Whitehead, Collin Whitehead, Michael Williams, and Scott Rodgers. Gwelda Lee Williams was born June 9, 1943, in Wayne Co., MI to the late Buron Rogers and the late Eddie Lee Hart Rogers. On April 27, 1973, she married Ralph H. Williams and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2013. Gwelda was a farmer, gardener, and homemaker. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats. Gwelda is survived by three daughters: Leisa (Lee) Whitehead of Puryear, TN, Pam Wolschon of Crossville, TN, and Kim Stevenson of Buchanan, TN; four sons: Keith Williams of Puryear, TN, Van (Diana) Williams of Paris, TN, Buron "Scooter" (Sabrina) Williams of Buchanan, TN, and Ralph L. (Sheila) Williams of Michigan; one sister, Lorrie (Scott) Rodgers of Puryear, TN; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Gwelda was also preceded in death by two sisters: Renda Bevier and Cheryl Collins; and a brother, Eddy Rogers.
