Herman Lovelace Cate

Herman Lovelace Cate, age 89, of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Cate will be 11 am on Friday, December 24, 2010 at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow at Henry Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday evening at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4-8 pm and after 9 am on Friday until service time at 11 am. Mr. Lovelace was married on October 26, 1940 to Alice Lawrence Cate who preceeded him January 26, 2004. He is survived by a daughter; Diane Gale Cate (Gary) Clark, Paris, TN, sister; Ruth Huthcheson, Paris, TN, he is also survived by numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mr. Cate is preceded by a daughter; Janice Lee Cate, son; Charles Larry Cate, sisters; Mary Hamilton and Lucille Givens, brothers; Ralph Cate and Cecil Cate. Mr. Cate was a graduate of Henry High School and was a retired rural letter carrier. A Methodist by faith, and was Veteran of WWII where he was stationed in the Philippines. He enjoyed working with livestock especially horses. But his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
