Mr. Howard Wayne McDermith, age 88 of Paris passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his residence. His body is to be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Howard McDermith was born January 14, 1933 in Cerro Gordo, Illinois to the late Loyal McDermith and the late Grace Marie Aldrich McDermith. He married Shirley Parks McDermith on June 24, 1951 and she survives in Paris. Howard is also survived by his daughters, Cherly Priest of Paris, Debbie (Jeff) Shonkwiler of Bement, Illinois, Lori (Morgan) Taylor of Paris and Christie (David) Paul of St. Joseph, Illinois; sons, Ronald (Carol) McDermith of Paris, Dennis McDermith of Como and Richard (Paula) McDermith of Monticello, Illinois; sister, Shirley Hale of Decatur, Illinois; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. McDermith is also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Howard was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.
