He is survived by his wife Betty Sandefer Day, married May 10, 1972, mother: Martha Harvey Tarver Day, Paris, TN, daughters: Tracy (Archie) Story, Dover, TN, Lisa (Gill) Taylor, Bartlett, TN, Susan (Max) Obmoin, Egan, Minnosota, son: David (Vicky) Day, Jackson, TN, brother: Tom T. (Pam) Day, Broomfield, Colorado, grandchildren: Tucker James Story, Amy Grace Story, Joshua Bradley Taylor and Ethan Taylor, step-granddaughter: Shelby Anne Story, aunt: Connie Warfield, Jackson, MS, uncle: Thomas Tarver, Clearwater, FL, nieces and nephews. Preceded by his father: Hugh Connell Day, Sr. January 19, 2010. Hugh was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis. He retired July 2004 as Captain with the Memphis Police Department and moved to Springville, TN.
