Imogene "Jean" Johnson, age 82 of Springville passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Henry County Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Robert McBroom of Point Pleasant Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Birds Creek Cemetery in Whitlock. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and family members. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday prior to the service. If attending, please follow all social distancing guidelines. The service will be available live via McEvoy Funeral Home YouTube channel at 1:00 PM. Imogene Johnson was born September 1, 1937 in Ridgely, Lake County, Tennessee to the late Jessie Leary and the late Relmer Smith Leary. On August 4, 1956 she married Joe Johnson and he survives in Springville, Tennessee. Along with her husband, Jean is also survived by her daughter, Susan (Steve) Parker of Paris; three sons: Nick Johnson (Kathy Hines) of Huntingdon, TN, Ricky Gene Johnson of Paris, and Rocky (Kathy) Johnson of Union City, TN; sister, Addie Mead of Godfrey, IL; nine grandchildren: Joey (Corrie) Johnson, Allison (Clay) Langley, Crystal (Perry) Reeves, Hunter (Jessica) Johnson, Bobby (Missy) Johnson, Cannon (Kristen) Johnson, Amy Brockwell (Mo Hindieh), Traci Allen (Brian Donaldson), and Brooke Johnson; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides her parents, Jean was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane Johnson on June 9, 1999. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles Leary and Benjamin Leary. Jean worked at Coast to Coast, The Kitchen Table, The Towne House Restaurant, The Avalon, and Shoney's.
