Irene Lynch Wilbanks, age 83, of Henry, TN, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Henry County Health and Rehab. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at McEvoy Funeral Home, conducted by Bro. Joe Eaton of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Named as pallbearers are James Perras, Tim Olive, Zach Wilbanks, Caleb Perras, Daniel Lynch, and Jordan Wilbanks. Burial will follow services in Henry Cemetery.
Visitation is planned on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Friday, after 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Irene was born January 11, 1943, in Alma, GA, to the late Ira Lynch and the late Zona (Dan) Chaplin. She married James L. Wilbanks on June 1, 1960 and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1991; Irene is also preceded by her companion, Marvin Long, Jr.; she is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Tim) Olive of Paris; son, Gerald (Connie) Wilbanks of Henry; grandchildren, Misty (James) Perras, Jordan Wilbanks, Zach (Jamie) Wilbanks, Rachel Copeland, and Matthew Wilbanks; great-grandchildren, Peyton (Bree) Armstrong, Caleb Perras (Kaitlynn Barrow), Alexis Perras, Zach Wilson, Katelin Burns, Ellie Wilbanks, Evelyn Wilbanks, Zoe Wilbanks, Case Robinson-Ross, and Emersyn Horton; sister, Hilda Nunez of Florida; brother, Jimmy Lynch of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Fonda Lynch and Judy Lynch, both of Florida; nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Mrs. Wilbanks is also preceded by her son, Phillip Wilbanks (prec. Nov. 20, 2014); grandson, Shawn Ross (prec. June 25, 2008); sister, Lorean Lynch; and brothers, Lester Batten, Benny Lynch, and Donald Lynch.
Mrs. Wilbanks was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She enjoyed cross-stitching, baking, and going dancing. Irene loved her family and most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
