Funeral services for Mr. James Buford Barton, age 89, of Paris, TN, will be conducted on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 3:30 P.M. at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday at McEvoys from 4 until 8:00 P.M. and after 1:00 on Thursday until service time. Mr. Barton was married on November 16, 1946 to Dot Linville Barton who survives him. He is also survived by a son; Bobby (Karen) Barton, Paris, TN, sister; Caroline Oliver, Paris, TN, grandchildren; Lee Barton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Barton is preceded by parents; Voline O. Barton and Shellie Sturdivant Davidson, sisters; Lerlie Bedwell, and Thelma McDaniel, brothers; Louie Barton, and a brother who preceded in infancy and four nephews. Mr. Barton was a Navy Veteran of WWII who served in the Philippines. He was formerly a deacon at East Wood Church of Christ and had retired from Holley Carburetor as an electrician.
