James E. Blanton, age 72, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 in Paris, TN at Henry County Healthcare Center. His Celebration of Life will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2025 at McEvoy Funeral Home, conducted by Bro. Randy Stephens. Visitation is scheduled on Monday, after 11:00 A.M. until time of service. James Edward Blanton was born August 8, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Wilbert Robert Blanton and the late Laura Mary Rifenburg Blanton. He married Christine Swanson Blanton on February 18, 1973 and she survives in Paris. James is survived by sisters, Dianna Rosales of Desto, Missouri and Linda Blanton of St. Louis; by brother Dennis Blanton; by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Besides his parents, James is also preceded in death by sisters, Roseann Sullivan and Teresa Jane Dornbach; and by brothers, Robert Blanton and Buddy Blanton. Mr. Blanton was an avid outdoorsman who loved to ride his motorcycle and go boating and fishing. James was a jack of all trades, working as a tree trimmer for the forestry service, working for the public school system in Missouri, for Hi C Chimney Co. as a punch press operator, also working for General Molding and for Sparkett Devices.
