Funeral service for Mr. Conger will be Saturday, April 10th, 10:00 A.M. McEvoy Chapel with burial to follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery, visitation 4:00 until 8:00 Friday and after 9:00 Saturday. He is survived by his wife Pauline "Polly" Robinson Conger, daughter; Mary Ruth Conger, sons; Larry Mitchell (Sharon) Conger, John Richard (Rhonda) Conger, sisters; Lucille Parrish, Martha (Henry) Hobby, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Preceded by his parents; Josiah and Nellie Ruth Greene Conger, daughter; Rebecca Joyce Bennett, sons; James David Conger, Paul Fredrick Conger, brother; William Joseph Conger and grandson; Sammy Butler. James was a member of Redemption Ministry. WWII Army Veteran, Tennessee Army National Guard with 21 1/2 years of total service. Retired from Holley Carburetor Plant. Formerly served as President othe local UAW. He was an avid camper, fisherman, gardener and woodworker.
