Funeral service 11:00AM Wednesday at the Vandyke Church of Christ with Bro. Roger Banks and Bro. John Dale officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. He was born in Mansfield to the late James C. and Mattie Derington Huffman. On November 26, 1941 he married Helen McCain Huffman, she preceded December 1, 2007. Survived by a daughter: Emily (Lucian) Acuff, Brentwood; son: James D. (Jackie) Huffman, II, Gallatin; twin brother: John C. (Anne) Huffman, Louisville, KY; grandchildren: LuciAnn (Kevin) Helms, Jennifer (Andy) Holliday; great-grandchildren: Bradley, Mattie, Callie, Molly Helms, Katie and Drew Holliday; devoted cousins: Theron and Joyce Hastings; very special friend: Anne Brewer, also survived by nieces, nephews and other special friends. Preceded by a sister: Elizabeth Bunn Vance. James was a member of East Wood Street Church of Christ and currently a member of the VanDyke Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he received the "Bronze Star". He was a graduate of Henry High School class of 1938. Worked at BPU for 36 years and retired as superintendent in 1982.
