Mr. Dale's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Blood River Church of Christ in Buchanan, TN. The funeral will be conducted by Bro. Ed Bucy and Bro. John Dale. James was the son of the late Ruben Isaac Dale and Mary Strader Dale. He married Opal Lockwood Dale on November 2, 1952 and she survives in Buchanan, TN. Also surviving are dauthter, Barbara Dale (Paul) Jones of Springdale, AR; son, James M. "Jim" (Marian) Dale of Cookeville, TN; sister, Evelyn Dale (James) Norton of Paris, TN; grandchildren, Jeramy Jones, Adrian Taliferro, Brian Dale and Laura Dale. Also preceded in death is his daughter, Judy Carol Dale. Mr. Dale was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II. He attended Tolers Business College in Paris. He was employed for 30+ years as a national wildlife manager for the US Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service at locations in Tennessee, Arkansas, North Carolina and Mississippi. He was widely recognized as an outstanding manager of forest, fish and wildlife resources, for his agricultural expertise and for his mentoring younger managers. Mr. Dale was very active in the agricultural community. He was active in the 4-H and Future Farmers of America as a student and later as an adult leader and advisor. He was the last original founding member of the Henry County Farmers Cooperative at Paris, TN. Mr. Dale was a servant who chose humility instead of awards and honors. He was also a servant in his private life. He was a faithful, loving husband and father, friend and encourager through out his life. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and served as an elder at the Blood River Church of Christ. His greatest accomplishment in life was teaching his children the way of salvation and bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
