Funeral service 1:00PM Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Dr. Rob martin of First United Methodist church of Paris and Rev. Dossie Wheatley will officiate, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are Bob Wells, Andy Hooper, Tommy Wimberley, Curtis Jones, Jimmy Mann, Norris Geurin, Mike Key and David Travis.
Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church 4:00 - 8:00PM Wednesday and after 10:00AM Thursday.
Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife of 53 years, Minnie Lou Walters Perkins, they were married May 24, 1959. Also survived by a daughter: LuAnne (John) Taylor, Paris; sons: Randall (Debra) Perkins, Paris, Paul (Amy) Perkins, Dyersburg, John (Paula) Perkins, Paris; sisters: Christine (Don) Pennington, Dyersburg, Naomi (Connie) Hay, Chattanooga; grandchildren: Morgan, Melinda, Murray, Clay, Clint and Garrett Perkins, Ethan and Abby Taylor; several nieces and nephews and a special friend: Nell Blanton.
Preceded by his parents: Ray and Thelma Lee Perkins.
"Hilary" was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris for 53 years serving on various committees with the last being church treasurer for 20 years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee of Memphis, College of Pharmacy, Co-owner of Perkins Drug and was the longest active pharmacist of 56 years in Paris. He was a 4 year Navy Veteran and had served on the PLUS Endowment Board for several years.
