James Thomas Hobbs, age 74, of Cottage Grove, TN died Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. His funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday May 16, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Noah Taylor officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 12:00Noon until service time. He was born in Kenton, TN to the late Samuel Thomas and Helen Jeanette Puckett Hobbs. On November 13, 1976 he married Helen Ruth Sheridan Hobbs, she preceded August 9, 2011. Survived by a daughter: Jennifer Hobbs, Cottage Grove; son: John Thomas Hobbs, Cottage Grove; sister: Martha (David) Howard, Cottage Grove, Ethel Nell Duren, Kenton, Brenda Woodruff, Marion, IL; brother: Charles Hobbs, Marion, IL and several nieces and nephews. Preceded by a son in infancy: James Robert Hobbs and a sister: Annie Carolyn Webster. James was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Palmersville. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
