Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. David Jackson, Cottage Grove Church of Christ, officiating, burial will follow at Hodges Cemetery in Palmersville, TN. Named as pallbearers are Joe Hodges, Scottie Hodges, Gary Downey, Andy Paschall, Gerald Moon, Glen Taylor, James Hinton and James Thornhill. He was the son of the late Ike L. and Elvenie Summers Hodges. On June 23, 1951 he married Robbie Wilson Hodges, she survives in Palmersville. Survived by a son: James Wilson(Joan) Hodges, Palmersville; sister-in-law: Ann Veazey Wilson, Cottage Grove; grandson: Jeremy (Annie) Hodges, Nashville; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by two brothers: Harold Hodges and Raymond Hodges and a grandchild: Jennifer Hodges. Mr. Hodges was a member of the Cottage Grove Church of Christ. He worked at Lear Siegler for 22 years in Union City and retired from Holley Carburetor Plant after 10 years. James was also a farmer, enjoying raising cattle and was a Army Veteran, serving in World War II for three years.
