Jim was born in Milan, Tennessee to James Derington Huffman and Helen McCain Huffman, both of whom preceded him in death. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and pursued his education at Freed Hardeman College.
A man of faith, Jim spent time preaching the gospel in multiple churches in Louisiana and Tennessee. His impact on the spiritual lives of those he encountered will be a lasting tribute to his commitment to his love for Jesus. Over the past several years, Jim was a valued member of the Nashville Road Church of Christ, where he loved and served well.
Jim loved his community and was a long-time member of the American Legion. He also served as Chairman of the ELKS USA Mid-Tennessee Drug Awareness Campaign.
In his retirement, Jim found joy in woodworking, restoring pieces that showcased his craftsmanship. He also embraced the spirit of giving by becoming one of Santa's helpers in the Gallatin community, spreading happiness and holiday cheer.
