James Clement LaJoye, age 91, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at AHC Paris. His memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 11, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Rev. Joy Wethersbee of First United Methodist Church to officiate. Burial will take place at Birds Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy on Thursday after 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
James C. LaJoye was born in Baraga, Michigan on August 30, 1927 to the late Arthur LaJoye and the late Mary Flora Wadaga LaJoye. He married Majorie Jane Morris LaJoye on August 8, 1964 and she preceded him in death on August 21, 1998. Jim is survived by two grandchildren, Jane Ann (Steve) Sampson of Michigan and Melissa Johnson of Paris; great-grandchildren, Brooke Sampson and Dylan Johnson; niece, Debe Malega of Michigan and nephew, Bill (Susan) Neese of Paris. Besides his parents and wife, Jim is also preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Morris Schrader and Stephen Lane Schrader; one sister and two brothers.
Jim was in the Army and later the Navy serving in both WWII and also the Korean War. He was a member of the Paris Moose Lodge and the VFW.
