James W. Travis

James W. Travis, age 87, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Patriot Health and Rehab Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Dr. Johnathan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family is planned on Tuesday, after 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

James W. Travis was born March 16, 1939, in Henry County, Tennessee, to the late Earl P. Travis and the late Artie Louise McClure Travis. He married Peggy A. McBee Travis on July 21, 1962 and she survives in Paris. James is also survived by his son, James Kevin (Michelle) Travis of Paris; sister, Ruth (Ed) Casey of Gleason, Tennessee; also by numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Travis is also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Connell.

James was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Paris. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from 1958 to 1961. He worked and retired from Haldex of Paris. James loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
