Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday August 11th at the Paris Community of Christ Church located on Lone Oak Road. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery. Friends may call at McEvoy Funeral Home 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church. Mr. Veazey was the son of the late Bailey L. and Mary Laura Harrison Veazey. He was married to Imogene Paschall Friday September 1, 1950 she preceded Thursday February 12, 2004. He is survived by his sons James Randall "Randy" (Betty) Veazey, Paris, TN and Stephen Mark "Steve" (Cathi Cackler) Veazey of Independence, MO.; Grandchildren Bree (Travis) Gensler, Katy Scammerhorn, Nathan Scammerhorn Bryce Veazey, Brady Cackler; Brother-in-law Bob (Sandy) Paschall and a number of cousins, nephews and nieces. Preceded by a sister Frankie Wyatt; brothers Bill, Bob and Charles Veazey. Gordon was a member of the Paris Community of Christ Church where he had served on the Finance and Building committees, Church School Director, Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. He was a graduate of Cottage Grove High School and Bethel College. He is an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion serving as Post and District Commander and active in their baseball programs, retired Material Control Manager for the former Holey Carburetor Plant and later retired as Veteran Service Officer for Henry County, served on the Board of Equalization and the Office on Aging.
