James D. Witherspoon, age 60 of Puryear passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. His body is to be cremated and no public services are scheduled at this time. James D. Witherspoon was born March 18, 1958 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Robert B. Witherspoon and Sue Lowry Witherspoon of Paris, TN. On February 13, 2014 he married Bobbi McCurdy Witherspoon and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2017. He was also preceded in death by a brother David Witherspoon. Mr. Witherspoon is survived by a daughter, Ashley (Larry) Horath of Puryear; a son, Chase (Cristy) Witherspoon of Puryear; a sister, Janice (Thomas) Buckle of Henry; two brothers: Robert L. (Janice) Witherspoon of Henry and Terry (Jackie) Witherspoon of Paris; and four grandchildren: Lilly Horath, Gavin, Liam and Maverick Witherspoon. Mr. Witherspoon previously owned and operated Transworks in Paris.
