Janice McLean

Janice McLean, age 74 of Pinson, TN, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Her funeral service will be on Friday, May 22, 2026, at McEvoy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Ken Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4:00-7:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home, and after 12:00 PM on Friday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers for Ms. McLean will be Logan Hopkins, Kelly Hicks, Jimmy Dove, Dave McLean, Bobby Melson, Jamie Hoofman, Zach Wallace, Bandon Hoofman, and Dakota Hoofman.

Janice McLean was born December 11, 1951, in Paris, TN, to the late Jimmy and Ruby Wynn Hoofman. On August 8, 1995, she married James McLean, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2020.

Janice loved line dancing, gardening, camping, sewing, crocheting, arts & crafts, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janice is survived by a daughter, Carol Smith (Alan Lyle) of Pinson, TN; grandchildren: Andrea Hopkins (Jimmy Dove), Kelly Hicks, and Christopher (Kaylynn) Hopkins; great-grandchildren: Logan Hopkins, Bella Bean, Gabby Bean, Mason Brigman, Maddy Hicks, Braylin Rhodes, Carly Hicks, CJ Hopkins, Avaleigh Hopkins, Rudy McLean, Kaidan Nanney, Carter Ayers, and Levi McLean; stepchildren: Dave (Jessie) McLean, Justin McLean, and Amber McLean; and sister, Patricia Buie.

Besides her parents and husband, Janice was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Smith; two sisters, Regina Hoofman and Kim “Sissy” Walker; and a brother, Jimmy Daren “Bubba” Hoofman.
