Mrs. Jeanie Mapes, age 63 of Springville passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Murray Calloway County Hospital. Her funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Robert McKinney to officiate. Burial will follow services in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are James Morrow, Daniel Morrow, Mark Matlick and Lindore Hebert.
Visitation is scheduled on Saturday after 1:00 P.M. until time of service.
Jeanie Matlick Mapes was born September 10, 1957 to the late Robert Matlick and to Mary Wright who survives in Chamblee, Georgia. She married Wesley L. Mapes, July 27, 1974 and he survives in Springville. Jeanie is also survived by daughter, Jessica (James) Morrow of Bandana, Kentucky; brothers, Mark Matlick of Oakland, Tennessee, Ron Wright of Lavonia, Georgia, Robert Wright of Chamblee, Georgia, Mark (Candace) Wright, LaPorte, Indiana; grandchildren, Hannah Morrow, Nytalia Mapes and Daniel Morrow; niece, Laura Matlick and nephew, Chris Matlick.
Besides her father, Jeanie is also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Michael Mapes (prec. Jan. 21, 2017) and her brother, Joel Wright (prec. 2009).
Mrs. Mapes was a Christian by faith who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was also a registered dental assistant who retired after 30 years of service. Jeanie was an uplifter and an inspiration to everyone she met.
