Mrs. "Jimmie" Laverne France, age 95 of Paris, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her residence. Her visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home. No funeral service will follow. Her body will be cremated and a private burial of cremated remains will be held later at Bethesda Cemetery. Jimmie Laverne France was born January 14, 1922 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late James William Sweeney and the late Bettie Rhodes Sweeney. Mrs. France is survived by one daughter: Fran Shelton of Paris, TN; four grandchildren: Anthony (Deborah) McElroy, Cassandra Tyler, Heather Cooper, and Maria Cooper; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son: William "Bill" Cooper; three sisters: Christine Foust, Rheudine Calk, and Mary Sue Marshall. Jimmie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Paris and she retired from Holley Carburetor in Paris. SERVICES
