Graveside service 1:00PM Tuesday at Caledonia Cemetery, McKenzie, TN with Bro. Ed Long, Union Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Visitation 10:00 - 12:00PM Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Named as pallbearers are Cory Baucum, Marion Jones, Dennis Updyke, Chris Laws, Nicholas Kemp, Emily Leech. Ronald Drumheller will serve as honorary pallbearer. He was born in Gleason, TN to the late James and Lillie Mae Kemp Shobe. On March 3, 1984 he married Patsy E. Kemp, she survives in McKenzie. Survived by a daughter: Emily C. Leech, Dresden; sons: Nicholas (Theresa) Kemp, McKenzie, Jimmie (Debra) Kemp, Jr., St. Johns, MI; sisters: Ramona Washburn, McKenzie, Bonnette Wiles, Paris; brothers: Jerry (Shirley) Kemp, Paris, John Kemp, McKenzie; grandchildren: Jessica and Jonathan Kemp, Dylan Nico Kemp, Megan Leech and Dominic Dennis; great-grandchildren: Bryson and Drew Hosner. Jim was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Lansing, MI for 10 years. He then drove a semi for Motor Wheel Corporation of Lansing, retiring in 1993 after 25 years of service.
