Jimmy 'Sally' Emerson

Jimmy M. "Sally" Emerson, age 90 of Como, TN passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at his residence. His funeral will be Tuesday, December 6th at 1:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home with his son Dean Emerson and his son-in-law David Allbritten officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, with Pastor Debra McGuire performing the committal. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2022, and after 11:00 AM Tuesday, all at McEvoy Funeral Home, 507 W. Washington St., Paris. Pallbearers for Mr. Emerson will be Jeff Henderson, David Henderson, Bobby Doran, Jimmy Myatt, Jerry Wagner, and Reed Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Sally's golfing buddies. Jimmy M. Emerson was born December 19, 1931, in Henry Co., TN to the late Claude Maxwell Emerson and the late Beulah Z Allen Emerson. On August 16, 1958, he married Ethel Irene Collins Emerson and she survives in Como, TN. Jimmy was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church where he was treasurer for over 50 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Paris Masonic Lodge #108 and the Martha Chapter 155 of the Eastern Star. He was passionate about his sports, including golf, fishing, washer pitching, softball, bowling, hunting, and card playing. Most of all he loved God and his family. In addition to his wife, Jimmy is also survived by three daughters: Linda (David) Allbritten of Murray, KY, Nancy (Bobbie) Rogers of Trenton, TN, and Susan (Roger) Nance of Como, TN; son, Dean (Nan) Emerson of Bartlett, TN; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Emerson was also preceded in death by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
