Funeral service 2:00 PM Monday McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Martin of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Harding, Jerry Walker, Paul Russell, Stacy Nored, Ronald Kreamer and Raymond Kreamer. Visitation 4:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday and after 10:00 AM Monday. She was born in Henry County, TN to the late Joe D. and Opal Wilson Ray. On April 18, 1954 she married Max Cook, he survives in Paris, TN. A brother Billy Joe Ray preceded. For more than two years she had two special caregivers: Caorlyn Nored and Joyce Ann Thurmond. A member of the Brainerd United Methodist Church, after she and her husband returned to Paris they transfered their membership to First United Methodist Church. Joanne graduated in 1947 from Puryear High School and was employed by Dr. Chesemore as his Medical Assistant. When called, they delivered babies in the homes of Henry County residents. Later she was employed at Fuller-Morgan Hospital in Mayfield, KY until her husband was transfered to Chattanooga. There she worked with Dr. Gilbert Roberts, a Urology Specialist.
