Funeral service will be at 11:00AM Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Stephens of the Sulphur Well Church of Christ officiating, burial will follow in Wright Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Cheek, Scott Wells, Keith Cheek, Ronnie Norwood, Stephen Jaco and Jimmy Dudley. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Allen and James "BZ" French. Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Tuesday and after 9:00AM Wednesday. He was born Paris, Henry County, Tennessee to the late William Gibson and Mattie Lee VanCleave Cheek and was formerly married to Becky Cuthbertson Cheek of Springville. Survived by a daughter: Rachel (Scott) Wells, Nashville; son: Jason Cheek, Paris; sisters: Rosie (Jerry) Atkins, Jonesboro, GA, Marcia (Jimmy) Clendenin, Paris, May Wiggins, Clarksville; brother: Keith (Cindi) Cheek, Springville; grandchildren: James Daniel Wells and Jessica Lee Wells. Preceded by a brother-in-law: Jim Wiggins. Danny was a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran, serving five tours of duty overseas. He retired as Sgt. First Class after more than 30 years of service.
