Funeral service 2:00 PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Trent Bullock of First Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation Saturday after 10:00 AM until service time. He was born May 19, 1934 in Franklin, TN to the late Johnny and Emma Lee Johnson Holt. On October 12, 1957 he married Mae Dell Burdin Holt, she survives in Paris, TN. Survived by a son: John R. (Tammy) Holt, Buchanan, TN; sister: Ivadell Holt Simpson, Knoxville, TN; grandchildren: Nicole (Jay Hosford) Holt, Paris, TN, J.R. (Kelly) Holt, Paris, TN, Skylar Holt, Buchanan, TN and great-grandchildren: Slayden Hosford and Jimmy Ray Holt, both of Paris, TN. Preceded by sister: Barbara Grooms; brothers: James Allen Holt, John Lee Thomas Holt and Tandy Clinton Holt. Mr. Holt was a member of the First Baptist Church and their Silent Class for the Deaf in Paris. He worked at Holley Carburetor Plant until he became disabled. John was well known for his participation in area flea markets, he enjoyed gardening and canning his own vegetables. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to McEvoy Funeral Home, P.O.
