John Alan Williams, age 68 of Buchanan, TN, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home in Buchanan. Funeral service 2:00PM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Bishop officiating, burial will follow at New Beaver Dam Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Chuck Kinkead, Austin Kinkead, Wesley Williams, Ronnie Singleton, Larry Knott and Kenneth Barton. Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Friday, October 21, 2016 and after 1:00PM Saturday. He was born April 21, 1948 in Paris, TN to the late Kennie Edwin Williams, Jr. and Doris Simmons Williams. On June 6, 1988 he married Janice Knott Williams, she survives, Buchanan, TN. Survived by a daughter: Patti (Chuck) Kinkead, Como, TN; sons: Scott Edwin (Christy) Williams, McKenzie, TN, Brian Alan (Heather) Williams, Paris, TN; brother: Larry Thomas (Cherri) Williams, Jefferson City, MO; grandchildren: Lauren Harrison, Wesley Williams, Becca Williams, Austin Kinkead, Courtney DeShields; aunt: Jean Rotchild and close family friend: Jeremy Burkhart. Mr. Williams was a US Army veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in Vietnam during action near Saigon. SERVICES Funeral Service
