Joseph Eugene "Joe" Mettie

Joseph E. “Joe” Mettie, age 67, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at his residence. His body is to be cremated, and a celebration of life is being planned for a later date, with burial to follow next to his mother’s grave in Arizona.

Joe Mettie was born October 6, 1958, in Yuma, Arizona to Joe Mettie, who survives in Lakeside, AZ and to the late Mildred Stinnett Mettie. He is survived by daughters, Madison Mettie of Paris, TN and Melissa Mettie of Arkansas; sons, Adrian (Susana) Yourgules of Blue Ridge, GA and Nick Yourgules of Norfolk, VA; sister, Jolene (Roy) Jordan of Graham, TX; brother, Michael Mettie of Pinetop Lakeside, AZ; three grandchildren; and by other family members and friends.

Mr. Mettie enjoyed doing arts and crafts, making his own greeting, birthday, and holiday cards for his family. Joe was very passionate about all of his construction projects. He was also known for his light-hearted comedy and jokes, delighting whoever was with him. But, Joe was most passionate about loving his family and especially his grandchildren.
