Mrs. Josephine Estelle Mizell Parker, age 101, of Henry, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Henry County Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Dcecmber 16, 2018 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Graham of Henry Church of Christ to officiate. Burial will follow the service in VanDyke Church of Christ Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are David Perry, Stu Archer, Bill Cate, Joe Brown, Darryl Dunn, Bobby Swayne, Will Brown, and Lucas Brown. Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Sunday after 1:00 P.M. until service time. Josephine was born on June 12, 1917 in Mansfield, Tennessee to the late E.E. Mizell and the late Susie Cannon Mizell. She married George N. Parker on November 8, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2002. Mrs. Parker is survived by daughters: Janice (Bob) Perry of Paris, Tennessee, Betty Cate of Henry, Joyce Parker of Henry, and Mary Malone of Paris; grandchildren: David Perry, Suzanne Perry, Bill Cate, Melissa Dunavant, Betsy Dunn, Jennifer Brown, Amanda Swayne, and James Malone; and by fifteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Josephine is also preceded in death by her son: Elery N. and wife Ruth Parker, sons-in-law: Eddie Malone and Don Cate; sisters: Celeste Parker, Dorothy Diggs, and Mary B. Foust; and brother: Joe Mizell. Mrs. Parker also leaves behind three caregivers: Heather Painter, Tanya Bush, and Rachel Ball. Josephine was a member of Henry Church of Christ. She worked at Salant & Salant formerly of Paris. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
