Funeral service for Mrs. Bruce will be Thursday 1:00 P.M. at the East Wood Street Church of Christ, burial to follow at Memorial Cemetery, visitation: 4:00 until 8:00 Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home, after 11:00 Thursday at East Wood Street Church of Christ until service time.
She is survived by a daughter; Amy Rose, a son; Troy (Jan) Bruce, both of Paris, sisters; Edna (Edgar) Phelps, Paris, Daulene (Kenneth) Norwood, Germantown, Lola May Nanney, Paris, brother; Veltman Throgmorton, Paris, grandchildren; John Thomas rose, Charlie Rose, Justin Bruce, Ashley (Keith) Hodge all of Paris, eight nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her husband; Jimmy Ray Bruce October 2, 2010, parents; Knox Henry and Lucy Ester Crews Throgmorton and a sister; Betty Scott Lewis.
Graduated from Henry High School and worked as a nursing assistant at Rhea Clinic. She was injured in 1963 and became a paraplegic, she still managed to raise her two children and operate a day care out of her home for 23 years. She also cared for her sick husband for the last 10 years. She was a member of the East Wood Street Church of Christ, loved her family, her church, small children, rose bushes, flowers and nice things.
