Joy Christine Childers Edmisson, age 87 of Evansville, In, formerly of Paris passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Evansville. Due to COVID-19 precautions, a private burial was held Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Joy Weathersbee of First United Methodist Church. Joy Christine Childers Edmisson was born September 4, 1933 in Atoka, OK to the late Elige Samuel Childers and the late Lillian Pearl Johnson Childers. On November 19, 1955 she married Jete S. Edmisson and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2004. Joy was a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church, past president of the Paris Lioness Club and owner of Mansard Island Resort on Kentucky Lake. Ms. Edmisson is survived by two sons: Jete S. (Phyllis) Edmisson, Jr of Greenville, KY and Darryl E. (Kay) Edmisson of Paris, TN; one brother, Cloyd Sonny Childers of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren: Jacob Stafford Edmisson, M.D., Travis Justin Warman and Katie Flowers; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Joy was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Childers Starke; and a brother, Bud Childers.
