Joyce Loraine Green

Joyce Green, age 90, of Springville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at St. Thomas West in Nashville. Per Joyce’s wishes, she will have a private family visitation and burial. Named as pallbearers are Gavin Farris, Charles “CC” Green, Dakota Green, Tyler Bradford, David Riley, and Wayne Casey.

Joyce Loraine VanDerWolde Green was born October 12, 1935, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Lynn VanDerWolde and the late Thelma Wicker VanDerWolde. She married Charles Wesley Green on December 6, 1952, and he preceded her in death on September 8, 1993. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Joyce Green of Paris; son, Art (Kathy) Green of Springville; grandchildren, Charles (Amy) Green, Samantha Farris, Tabbatha (Wayne) Casey, Dakota (Allie) Green, Denise (Jason) Jackson, Becky Bruce, and Travis Tittle; also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, Joyce is also preceded in death by a daughter, Christie Green (1970); her son, Carl Green (1959); sister, T. Louise Tomlinson; and brother, Leonard VanDerWolde.

Mrs. Green was a Christian by faith. She graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan. Joyce worked and retired from Tecumseh, formerly of Paris. She enjoyed yard sales and her family remembers her for making the best chocolate gravy ever.
