Funeral service 2:00PM Monday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Dale officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Named as pallbearers are Mike Waddey, Jerry Stewart, Jimmy Stewart, Dan Paschall, Buddy Kemp and Bobby Barrett. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Shankle, Chris Shankle, James Hinton, Andy Paschall, Bernard Downey and Gary Downey. Visitation 10:00AM Monday until time of service. She was born in Henry County to the late Robert and Lillie Paschall James. On August 22, 1935 she married John Turner "J.T." Rainey, he preceded December 3, 1996. Survived by a granddaughter: Shellie (Jeff) Chandler Edwards, Peachtree City, GA; great-grandchildren: Camille Elaine Edwards and Payton Faith Edwards; special friends: Joan Shankle and Mike Shankle; special caretakers: Susie Porter, Helen Strickland, Cathy Washum and the staff at Eiffel Gardens. Preceded by a daughter: Camille Rainey Chandler; sister: Clover Stewart and a brother: Robert "Bob" James. Mrs. Rainey was a member of the Cottage Grove Church of Christ. She was a school teacher for 29 years at Center and Cottage Grove Schools, was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and served as Alderman of Cottage Grove.
