Kert W. Blackwood, age 82, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Henry County Healthcare Center. His funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Jim Poe officiating; Art Smith and Dave Vance will also be speaking. Burial will follow the service in Bethesda Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are David John Roberts, Dan Roberts, Art Smith, Dave Vance, Scott Fredrick, and Johnny Driver; honorary pallbearers will be Jim Borne, Jerry Culpepper, and Rick Pepple. Kert Walker Blackwood was born in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Kersey Walker Blackwood and the late Frances Norton Blackwood. He is survived by nephews: David John (Gini) Roberts of Paris and Dan Lee (Jane) Roberts of Jackson; also by numerous great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, Kert is also preceded in death by nephew: James Gerald Roberts and niece: Jane Roberts Driver. Mr. Blackwood was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. He formerly was the chairman for the Henry County Republican Party, past president of the Volunteers For Freedom Tea Party, moderator for Traditional American Movement Forum, and faithful advocate for Christian and Constitutional Principles.
