Eva Lane Freeland Whitmer, age 78 of Buchanan, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at her residence following a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones. Her body is to be cremated and a memorial service will be 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike White officiating. A private family burial is to follow in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. Eva Lane Freeland Whitmer was born October 28, 1944 in Buchanan, Tennessee to the late Mason Noel Freeland and the late Wilby Lee Murphy Freeland. She married Raymond Thomas Whitmer and he preceded her in death in 2017. Eva Lane is survived by her daughters, Bridget Renee Anderson and Stephanie Dawn Wyatt, both of Nashville; and by a brother, Jim W. Freeland of Benton, Kentucky. Besides her parents and husband, She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael R. Freeland and Randy Freeland. Mrs. Whitmer was a lifetime member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Buchanan. She enjoyed interior designing and being a homemaker. Because of her love of animals, the family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to ASPCA.
