Larry E. Hancock, age 71 of Paris, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at his residence. His funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at McEvoy Funeral Home with David Goff of Cedar Hill Church of Christ and Edward Smith of Kentucky Lake Road Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday all at McEvoy Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Josh Hancock, Paul Hancock, Tracy Grooms, Kyle Veazey, Keith Chilcutt, Jimmy Veazey, Kerry Bell, and Scott Delaney.
Larry E. Hancock was born February 3, 1947 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Bob Hancock and the late Joyce Beadles Haynes. On August 14, 1964 he married Martha Veazey Hancock and she survives in Paris, TN. He is also survived by two daughters: Cary (Wayne) Moore of Olive Branch, MS and Rachel (Joshua Smith) Hancock of Fayetteville, AR; two sons: Michael (Lisa) Hancock of Conway, MS and Reece (Danielle) Hancock of Maumelle, AR; two brothers: Charles (Shelia) Hancock of Paris, TN and Norman Hancock of Puryear, TN; six grandchildren: Madelyn Moore, Jackson Hancock, Kate Hancock, Owen Hancock, Branson (Olivia) Shaffer, and Alexandra Shaffer; one great grandchild, Carson Shaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Hancock was also preceded in death by his step-father, Delbert Haynes.
Mr. Hancock was known a "Dad" and "Daddy" to his children, "Big Papa" to his grandchildren, and "Uncle Big Larry" to his nieces and nephews. He was owner of Hancock's Window & Glass in Eldorado, AR for 33 years before retiring and moving to Tennessee. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
