Laura Stamps Brown, age 87 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Henry County Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Irby officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 and after 12:00 PM Sunday. Pallbearers will be Chase Melton, Dylan Overcast, Sandy Wyatt, David Chenoweth, Tony Phifer and Larry Freeland. Laura Stamps Brown was born March 1, 1932 in Orlando, Florida to the late Earl J. Hildebrand and the late Anna Cedelia Carson Hildebrand. She was married to Earl Ranford Stamps who preceded her in death in 1990, and Seth Thomas Brown, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Brown is survived by four daughters: Cheryl Annette (Larry) Freeland of Paris, TN, Donna Laurene (Sandy) Wyatt of Springville, TN, Cynthia (Jackie) Denton of Paris, TN and Teresa Lynn (David) Chenoweth of Paris, TN; two sons: Gary Wayne Brown and David Stamps both of Paris, TN; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Christine Greer Stamps; two sons: Seth Thomas Brown, III in 2003 and Thomas Earl Stamps in 1976; five sisters: Ruth H. Reed, Stella H. Golloway, Sara H. Elmore, Elizabeth Hildebrand, and Lucille Hildebrand; one brother, Francis Austin Hildebrand in 1991; one granddaughter, Laurie Machelle Greer in 1975; and one great granddaughter, Alyson Melton in 2018. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Ray of Hope Church and she formerly worked at Salant & Salant and also Henry County Medical Center. Visitation McEvoy Funeral Home, Inc.
