Mrs. Laverne Norwood Throgmorton of Paris, TN passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the age of 100. Funeral Service for Mrs. Throgmorton will be Monday, June 8, 11:00 AM at McEvoy Funeral Home. Bro. Randy Stephens of Sulphur Well Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM, Sunday June 7, at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM on Monday. Named as Pallbearers; Mike Garner, Don Norwood, Gerald Bomar , Randy Bomar, Harold Bass, and Jim Sexton; Honorary Pallbearers; Bobby Williams, James Bomar, John French, Bob Wagoner, Gordon Owen, Sonny Wagner, and Lemuel Muzzall. Mrs. Laverne Throgmorton was born on August 29, 1914, to the late James A. Norwood and Lena Redden Norwood. On December 2, 1939 she married Freeman Throgmorton, who preceded her on April 14, 1992. She is survived by a sister; Frances (Gilbert) Francisco of Warren, Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by longtime special friend: Wanda Green. Mrs. Throgmorton was preceded by sisters; Mable Muzzall, Annie Lou Muzzall, Jewel Bomar, Sarah Alexander, and Estelle Norwood; brothers; Lester, Douglas, Freeman, Clyde, Carl and Jesse Norwood. Mrs. Laverne Throgmorton was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Mrs. Throgmorton retired from Holley Carburetor in Paris. She was a volunteer with Helping Hands and several other local organizations.
