Linda Shelia Gardner, age 72 of Paris, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at her residence. Her memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 6, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Josh Manning of East Wood Church of Christ officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Linda Shelia Gardner was born September 9, 1947 in Whitlock, Tennessee to the late Wendell Gardner and the late Ovie Hayes Gardner. She was formerly married to Robert Joseph Haynes of McKenzie, TN. She is also survived by a son, Julian (Dana) Haynes of Paris; two sisters: Sue Ann Gardner of Hamden, CT and Betty Carrol Nored of Whitlock, TN; two grandchildren: Xian Xavier Haynes and Xander Blayze Haynes; several nieces and nephews; one great niece; and numerous cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Ms. Gardner was also preceded in death by five sisters: Annette Crutchfield, Mary Ann Henry, Georgia Gardner, Carleen Williams, and Oteria Motley; and two brothers: Joe Harold Gardner and Fred Johnson. Linda was a member of East Wood Church of Christ. She was elected Ms. Wheelchair during the early seventies. She loved cooking shows, Steve Harvey, and the word of God in the Bible studies, both in church and in her home. She loved to take pictures, especially "selfies". Though being a paraplegic for fifty-four years, she never let it quench her spirit nor let the fact slow her down. Memorial Service McEvoy Funeral Home, Inc.
