Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Stephens, age 85, of Paris, TN, will be conducted on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM in McEvoy Chapel entombment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Garden. Visitation will be on Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4-8 PM and after 9:00 AM on Thursday until service time.
Mr. Stephens was married February 3, 1944 to Imogene Wade Stephens, of Paris, TN who survives him.
He is also survived by daughters; Sherry (Danny) Freeman, Paris, TN, Gail (Paul) Hudspeth, Paris, TN, sister; Loetta Tyler, Independence, MO, brother; Veltman (Sue) Stephens, Florissant, MO, sister-in-law; Maude (Kenwood) Robinson, Puryear, TN, Sue Stephens, Westland, MI, Geraldine Stephens, Paris, TN,Pat Stephens, Kanas City, MO, brother-in-law; Jake (Judy) Wade, Paris, TN, Jimmy (Betty) Wade, Paris, TN, grandchild; Katherine Freeman, Paris, TN, step grandchildren; Kristi Freeman, Puryear, TN, Paul (Mark) Webster, Gallatin, TN, Jeffrey (Sandra) Hudspeth, Columbia, TN, Jennifer (Gian) Valenza, Birmingham, AL, and six step great grandchildren, special caregiver; Beth Long, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Lloyd is preceded by parents; Billy and Lora Miller Stephens, step mother; Hallie Emerson Stephens, sisters; Violet Tyler, Virginia Stephens, brothers; Harvey Stephens, Euel Stephens, Jimmy Stephens, Frederick Stephens, and Johnson Stephens.
Mr. Stephens was a member and Elder of Paris Community of Christ Church, and a retired Dairy Farmer from the Hico Community. A veteran of WWII he served with the 3rd. Army, 5th Division, Company M, and had served under General Patton.
