Mr. Lucien Anderson Thomas, age 89, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at his residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Otis Hinton and Bro. Kenneth Beal officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oak Hill Union Church Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Geoffery Breeden, David Thomas, Johnny Paschall, Shannon Bomar, Johnny Horn, and David Underwood with the Men's Sunday School Class of Oak Hill Church to be honorary pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday after 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
Lucien Thomas was born July 30, 1928 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Elam Frank Thomas and to the late Lena May Hawkins Thomas. He married Celia Rayburn Thomas, who survives in Paris, on September 11, 1953. Lucien is also survived by his dauthter: Reta (Larry) Mock of Buchanan, Tennessee; his sons: Dale (Susan) Thomas of Lockport, Illinois, Dwayne (Mariam) Thomas of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, and Steven (Laura) Thomas of Paris; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and his brother: Lowell Thomas of Paris. Mr. Thomas is also preceded in death by one daughter in infancy; son: Charles Thomas in 2012; son in law: Mike Breeden in 2005, and sister: Camile Thomas Perry.
Mr. Thomas was a member and deacon of Oak Hill Church. He enjoyed going to church and also loved his family. Lucien was a Mason with the Marshall Lodge #109, earning his first degree. He worked and retired from Holley Carburetor with 28 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1950 until 1952 during the Korean conflict. A family member said that Lucien never met a stranger.
