Funeral service 2:00PM Thursday at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Walker officiating, burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 11:00AM Thursday at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. She was born in Friendship (Crockett County), TN to the late Francis Levi and Nancy Ida Sorrell Sanders. On August 22, 1942 she married Melvin L. Sorrell, he preceded February 1, 2006. Survived by a daughter: Barbara Hughes, Springville, TN; grandchildren: Melony (Kevin) Jones, Melinda Metzinger; great-grandchildren: Jasmine Noel Jones, Nicholas Wayne, Jonathan Wesley and Scarlett Olivia Metzinger; several nieces and nephews. Preceded by sisters: Mary Jones and Leona Barker and one brother preceded in infancy. Mrs. Sorrell was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church since 1952. She was Co-owner and manager of Sorrell's Camp for over 40 years and was a homemaker.
