Lula Mae "Lou" Hutson Powell Bonaire, Georgia Lou Powell, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Lou was born on September 5, 1932 in Buchanan, Tennessee to the late James and Betty Wilson Hutson. She worked in customer service at the Navy Exchange for many years. Lou was a member of Atoka Baptist Church in Atoka, Tennessee. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and cooking in her spare time. Along with her parents, her beloved husband, Calvin Eugene "Gene" Powell; daughter, LaJetta Lynn Powell; granddaughter, Charlotte Yake; five sisters; and four brothers, preceded her in death. Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Denita Grant (Clint) of Bonaire, Georgia, Sherry Knobbs of Millington, Tennessee; grandchildren, Aimce Graham (John) of Ocilla, Georgia, Jessica Gelling (Dan) of Roswell, Georgia, Danielle Defibaugh of Macon, Georgia, Adam Knobbs of Millington, Tennessee; and great-grandchildren, Gwenevere Gentry, Nathaniel Gentry, John Austin Graham, Grant Gelling and an "adopted" grandson, Bill McKee. Visitation will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robbins, Georgia. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris, Tennessee with a visitation prior from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Lou will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee.
